in memoriam
Mark White
Officer Mark A. White was remembered as a dedicated officer with a mischievous grin and a compassionate manner during funeral services attended by about 2,000 mourners, including 1,500 uniformed law enforcement officers from across California.
White died on February 10, 1995, when Shawn Brackin, a 25-year-old Roseville resident intending to commit suicide, walked into the Roseville Police Department and pulled a gun on the counter clerk. White, who was off duty and preparing to leave for the day, was caught in the ensuing confusion. He was tragically shot by a fellow officer who didn’t recognize him until after he had fallen with a gunshot wound to the chest.
In a ceremony at St. Isadore's Church in Yuba City, White, 30, was eulogized by Roseville Police Chief Thomas Simms as an officer who loved his job so much that his own wife called him Mr. Roseville.
Cameron Landon
Cameron Landon served in the Marine Corps from 2005 to 2009. During that time, he completed a tour in Iraq, met his beautiful wife Angela Sordello in Brisbane, Australia, and returned home to Grass Valley to start his career in law enforcement. Cameron was hired as a correctional officer for the Nevada County Sheriff’s Department in 2010 and then joined the Grass Valley Police Department in 2013. In 2015, he and his growing family moved to Roseville, California, where he served as a police officer for the city of Roseville and a member of the SWAT team.
Michael Jones
Mike was a favorite hippie cop, retired from the Roseville Police department with 28 years of service. He was dedicated to family, friends and service. He made a lasting impression on everyone. He was a lover of tie dye and Harley t-shirts, John Lennon glasses and master of the silliest, clean joke. He loved to travel. Annual trips to NYC, Carlsbad and Hawaii were always something he looked forward to.
Bobby Seich
Bobby started his law enforcement career in 2002 as a dispatcher for the Kissimmee Police Department in Florida and became a sworn officer in 2005. Bobby joined the Roseville Police Department in October 2014.
Bobby's battle with cancer started in 2008. He went through surgery and radiation and went into remission. About a year after Bobby joined the Roseville Police Department the cancer came back. Bobby fought to the end, but ultimately the cancer took him away from us. Bobby is survived by his wife Amber and their son RJ.
